    Hey guys,

Thx for the add! I’ve been getting a lot of great info from this forum since I recently purchased my first Taco. I bought a 2011 TRD with 77k.

I live in Vegas and while my Taco’s AC works pretty good, it does struggle when we get above 110F out here in the desert. My business requires me to do quite a bit of idling in my truck when doing work on my iPad. On the really hot days, the AC struggles to keep cold when idling.

I don’t think there is any issue with the compressor or re-charge so I plan on adding an aux e-fan to the compressor. I saw a TSB for some of the later year Taco’s and I plan on duplicating that.

I’ve found some helpful info in this forum and online but I was unable to find whether or not I would need to upgrade my alternator with this fan mod? I currently have a new 130a tow model alternator. Any thoughts?

Also, I really could only find one guy who reported back his actual results after he installed his fan. If anyone in here has done this mod, I’d love and appreciate to hear their experience. Thanks!!!

I put the kit on my 14, I was gona do a bit of a writeup on it but I haven't had time.
I will say it didn't make as much of a difference as I hoped but but I'd say 1-5 degrees at the center vent.

The worst part of the job is having to evac and recharge the A/C to install the pressure switch.

The TSB covered 15 only but it fits 12-15 models for sure, don't know about 05-11 models, it's about $600 for the kit.
Part number for the kit is 04000-17235

This is the contents of the kit.
