So. I wrote a thread on the chirping sound. I still can't get that to stop. Also. Does anyone ac compressor turn off and back on every 10secs? Rims go from 500 to 900 then it turns back off? You can feel it when the truck is in park

It will cycle if the cabin as at the desired temp. It does this to keep the evaporator from freezing up. If you turn the fan to MAX, does it take longer for it to cycle? If so, it answers your question. If it continues to cycle, then it may be low on refrigerant.

... ^^^ ... Mine does that since new ... when in park ... not sure about neutral ... but the tach bounces a lot several times a minute.

I don't have the fancy tech package. I will try it on max. Drive it works fine in any more. Just park

Yes that is the AC cycling. Mine does the same thing. I do not have the tech package. My AC so far blows really cold; so I know it is working okay.

Same here. Just never noticed it as much as on other cars. My 14 Camry was smooth as butter and it was a 4cyl. On the taco, you can feel it turn off and on.

Do you need to know, or care?
Mine's the same and to the point where if I'm at a stop light in drive and light on the brake, the truck will actually jump forward a bit. I've learnt to apply a little heavier foot on the brake if either the defrost or AC is on.

    None...yet
Cycling compressor is normal. That's how it works. I agree it's not real refined though.
Some cars use a variable compressor or variable metering valve (varying oriface) but this setup is a "fixed-oriface cycling-compressor" setup.

Speaking latin. Yeah I mean the Rpms jump up to compensate for the load. Never noticed that kind of compinsation on a vehicle before. The 4cyl 170hp or whatever it was didn't even make a noise or felt that the AC was on, it was smooth and as you said refined. Just weird to see Rpms climb to compinsate for a ac compressor load on a 278hp engine.
