I might need an AC re-charge, but before I do that I wanted to get a response from people who know better than I. I have noticed that my AC in my 2011 tacoma is not really cooling off the cab. The air coming out of the most drivers side vent is nice and chilly. I have the setting on just blowing on the face, not the floor or the glass. However, the air coming out of the Drivers right side is a little warmer, and the air coming out of the passenger's left side is even warmer than that. Finally the most passenger side vent is blowing hot air (easy 15-20+ degrees hotter than the most driver's side vent). I am not sure if it is related or not, but when I turn the truck off after the AC has been blowing for a few minutes the AC compressor making a lot of noise for a few minutes. I am sure someone on here knows more than I do, does this sound like something an AC re-charge can fix, or something different within the AC system?

I had the exact same symptoms, took it to a trusted shop since I know little about AC. Had a pin hole in the refrigerant discharge hose. Replaced, recharged and good to go.

    Somewhere you have a leak.

    Low charge causes this.

2012 prerunner, Same problem. Cold air on driver's side vents warm air on passenger vents. It's been working fine all vents for five years. Seems strange that driver's side is cold and would need refrigerant.

this can happen from low freon or a temp door actuator that is not moving the temp door, or the temp door itself is stuck.

I also had the cold on the left side vent and gradually gets warmer as you move to the right passenger side vent.
It was low R134A Charge due to a leak. Replaced HP Line and Condenser / Dryer and recharged. Has been good for many years since.
