Hey guys i got a 2015 tacoma. Only one years old and the ac does not blow cold. Started off with a wierd smell on the driver side vent only then couple days after it stopped blowing cold. Anyone has this problem? Im bringing it in to toyota but just was curious. Thanks!

Sounds like you have a freon leak.

You're under warranty, so I wouldn't even worry/think about this. Just let the dealer do their thing and move on with your life

Didn't happen to smell kind of like burning rubber did it? And does the A/C light flash when you try to turn it on? My first 05 and a friends 05 both had the A/C compressor's fail just out of warranty. And both went the exact same way. Neither of us fixed them. Both had delphi compressors. Toyota also used nippondenso compressors which are more durable. My current truck must have a nippondenso. Almost 175k and still blows nice and cold.

Kind of like asking "Do you want a punch in the right nut or left nut?"

My 15 lost most of its refrigerant last August. They recharged with dye added. So far they haven't found the leak. My guess is behind the d$mn dash. I have 34K on it so I kept my dealer documentation, called Toyota for a case number, and back to the dealer on the 10th.
My 98 never needed as much as a recharge

Quite often rats and squirrels will collect cat food and stash it in the ac vents. Quite a few people have had this happen.

You have never heard of this?

That's great that they found the problem.
If I were you I would have the freon levels checked before it goes out of warranty just incase.
AC repair is very costly out of warranty.
