For a couple extra bucks since you done this much. Might as well replace the two schrader valves/ valve cores.

I ordered those parts and if I end up doing it myself I'll do exactly that.

You will also need a digital scale. $10 eBay.

Auto Zone actually has it. I have to leave a deposit of $300 but they give it all back.

I saw that on the video. About 21 oz of refrigerant and each can is 12oz, or a big can of 20oz. That part is a bit confusing to me.

When I did mine, my thought was to buy the gauges and vacuum pump, scale and do it myself. I thought I better own the tools just in case I had a leak. I knew I would have been pissed having it refilled twice.

There was some weather stripping type material around the old evaporator core but there isn't any on the new one. Is that an issue?

All you do is weight ea full can on your scale. Your goal is to put 21 oz. or what ever that yellow tag says ( I don’t remember now). In your system. You need one full 12oz and the remaining comes from the second can. That’s what the scale is for.

I wouldn’t know, I never messed with the evaporator core. Just the condenser.

can you remove off the old and add to the new? If so, just do that.

It tears apart when I try to pull it off the old one. Does it need to be padded or is that stuff insulation?

Well, there must be some reason for it. I can’t imagine Toyota doing it for the heck of it. I would duplicate it to be on the safe side.

These are the seals and o rings I am using. Unfortunately I forgot which seal or o-ring is on each side of the expansion valve.

Since there's no refrigerant in the system, do I still need a special tool to remove the schrader valves?

Looks like I didn't set the air blend door actuator properly or accidentally moved the settings while I was taking everything apart. How can I fix that? Will I be able to get to that part after everything has been put back in place?
