So the problem started about 3 weeks ago and has only happened about 3 times since. 2009 DC Sport auto. It only seems to happen after the truck has been sitting over night and ill get in the next day to go to work. Outside temps are normal and have been in the 60's when problem occurs. Brand New battery in the truck too. Fan speed low and both medium speeds do nothing at all. Fan speed high works just fine. I have tried changing the temp knob, the air position knob, and even turned on/off the ac and recirculation button. No change. Ill mess with it for about 3 or 4 minutes by moving all the knobs around and changing the fan speed and suddenly it starts working again and will work great from then on. The AC blows cold and heater blows hot. No flashing lights and no other issues. Its like it just gets stuck. Im guessing its the fan motor or the actual fan speed dial. Possibly a relay or something sticking. Anyone have a problem like this before or have suggestions on where to start troubleshooting. Its hard to diagnose being that its not a common problem and has fixed itself every time. Open to ideas. Thanks

Check the stickies. There's a thread in there about it and lots of people have had that prob. It's the wiring harness on the blower motor. If you reach under the glove box and wiggle the wire I bet it will work again

My money is on the quoted text. That plug is located in a great location that allows the passengers left foot contact the bottom of the plug too. It's a great design. Let us know if the wiggle worx. :D

Yeah I read the sticky and tsb and concluded that its the supply wire giving too much power to the connector and burning it. Pin "C" is burnt for about the first 1.5" of the wire and the connector is burnt around that pin. Replacing the resitor for $35 bucks isnt a solution and more of a bandaid. The solution is to replace the wire harness and pin but that's more tricky than it sounds. Ill most likely replace the wire pigtail, connector and resistor just to make sure the problem is resolved for good. Although it still doesnt permanently fix anything. Its just a toyota flaw unfortunately

Hey ProForce, did you ever find a solution rather than a bandaid to this? I started having this problem a couple weeks ago. Every time it happens, I've popped out the air controls, unplug both harnesses, and plug them back in. I'm on the hunt for a more permanent solution. Thanks.
