That's ridiculous. if they don't have loaners, the least they can do is grab a vehicle from a car rental agency for you

We'll see. I'm not ready to flip out yet. Hopefully it's a quick fix. If not and they feed me some bs, then I'll have reason to get angry. It's only going to be 109 today. That's like a cool day here in Arizona... ::sarcasm::

We hit 109 the other day in Oregon, and I thought my brain was going to explode, and that's an understatement, so driving without a/c must be killer (hope it doesn't have to come to that).

This may vary depending on dealers, but when I was at my dealer this past weekend for a rear-diff leak inspection, the service guy there stated that they will usually try to loan a vehicle that's "closest in resemblance" to the vehicle in the shop, and if those aren't available, will either "strongly recommend" a vehicle in a different category, or grab a rental from an agency.

Hope it works out for you either way

Your warranty does not require a certain dealer. You can go to the one physically closest to you or the one that gives the best service.

I mean just in case your purchase location isn't the most reliable in service or distance to you.

Before you go, did you pull the AC filter and check things out? May save you a trip of annoyance...........

Yep it looks cracked in half in the middle of the spindle. Still makes the sound as it currently sits. It's toast.

Pick a different dealer that has some loaners.

I hear what you're saying but if a busted AC wasn't the reason for me to buy the truck of my dreams with a warranty I would probably figure out a way to make it work...

Well I am saying what some service departments do when many parts are back ordered and the car is still 'drive-able' they sometimes give the customer the option to drive home while the parts come in. They do this because sometimes they don't have enough cars to be used as rentals. So you can still use your truck if need be and still be using your warranty just ordering the parts.

I completely understand and agree with what you're saying. I really don't want to have to put up with driving in 110 degree weather without any AC. Have I done it before? Yea. I'm just going to try everything I can to ensure I don't have to.

I would think the climate control system would be a safety issue, thinking about being unable to use defogger and being able to see.

Talked to the service rep. Busted blower motor is confirmed. Luckily they have 5 in stock.

Anyone in the Phoenix metro with this issue, auto nation Toyota has a few on hand

Just noticed, you live in Arizona. A/C is a must. I hope they give you a rental.

Maybe severe heat is breaking these new A/C fans. I have a 2016.. Maybe they cheeped out on the 2017 models. I have driven through 120F on the freeway before with the A/C blasting. And I have gone weeks with 105 weather 1 hr commutes after work and no fan issues.(knocking on wood) Just food for though.

Fixed. Still have the bitter smell when it first starts up but I'll put up with it... For now... My front emblem came up missing after service so they replaced it for free.

Nope it was the stock one. I know damn well it was there when I went in, they washed it and then blammo, no more emblem. Idk if the pressure from the water spray somehow blew it off?? Really weird...

I have the exact same problem as you. Just happened today.

I can still run AC on 1 or 2. 3 or higher and it rumbles. They did say this part is backordered and I refuse to drive a rental that's not a truck so I'll keep driving it til they get the part. No idea how long that will be. Here in Austin, TX it is still approaching 90s in afternoon but I think it will be tolerable.
