I haven't seen the rear seats in my AC for 3 years the console is gone and the seats are covered with plywood. Don't miss them one bit. If you have a family you would have far more room in Highlander or some 4 door car. There are those that think a 4 door truck is cool I don't.

I agree but, I need a truck for work and since I need a truck I want one I can fit my family in. Then we can all go camping or take the bikes to the park using the truck and not an SUV with a bike rack etc.

I checked out the double cab before I bought the access cab. I'm 6'4" and when I adjusted the driver's seat so that I was comfortable, the back seat passenger would have been very cramped. In my opinion, if you want to haul around more then two people and a lot of stuff, get an SUV. I think four door DC trucks were a bad idea and I don't like the way they look.
    Regards,
    AL

Your forgetting the reason for a truck is the bed. Of course I own a truck to use as truck. Some people just buy a truck to have one but don't actually use or need the bed

Not me my friend, if I wanted that extra space I would go for a full size truck because even the DC is cramped in the back with 4 full size adults

The Toyota Tacoma Access cab is about the sexiest looking trunk on the market, almost to the point of being considered porn, (I had once read that the Gov. almost made Toyota put an X-rating on the Toyota Access cab)
Hence the reason for the DC,, Toyota thought it had better "tone" down the looks a little & thought the DC would accomplish that, which it did, although not bad looking, it doesn't have that "Raw" sex appeal of the Access Cab!!!!

I am mixed between the two. Having the DCSB the extra space in the cab is nice, but short box sucks when you need to carry anything longer than 5 feet! I went with the DC mainly because I have kids now. I would really drive either though!

If only there were a Triple Cab Ultra Long Bed, we might finally be able to put this to rest.

What I wish I had was a month long extended orgasm. Not a double cab.

If i wanted a 140" wheelbase, I'd get a full-size truck. Access cab is perfect. Room for a couple of extra passengers when "necessary", room for your stuff & to recline the seats when needed, and all without the wheelbase of a school-bus...plus they look great! ;)

    hahahaha

... Even still, I truly don't know why some people 'claim they' want a short bed on their truck. Really? WTF?

I will admit the DC Toyota is slightly better looking than the Explorer pickup.
