And that's the point I've been making. But yes, people have been saying the AC is much better, by saying that a short bed is a completely useless grocery hauler, but adding a foot more bed length suddenly makes it a TRUCK.

I did the move a year after high school so no I didn't have much stuff to bring. Cant really leave the tailgate down while camping because of the amount of grizzlies in my area. Its nice to not have to haul around everyone else too and make a mess of your truck. There has been many of times that i could barely fit everything in the bed of my truck and couldnt imagine if I had a DC, personal preferences!

Lets see you stuff all of this in a SB?

Plus the SB just looks odd. Its just cut off at the wrong place.

The longer bed is the one thing I wish I'd gotten, but didn't think of it. (shrug) on the plus side, I haven't yet found anything I can't fit in, although I would like to be able to sleep in the back with the tailgate up, and I'll never be able to do that with the DCSB.

    Smaller? Yes. Useless? No.

I had the backseats folded flat and another dresser and nightstand inside helping my sister move. Try that with an a/c. They are all great trucks, to each their own.

    +1

The front is too long and the back too short....

My neighbor has a DCLB SR-5 which looks much better proportioned - but he has a kid + dog, and I don't think he goes off road (other than maybe to a fishing spot).

Maybe not hauling, but the answer to the bolded part is: ME.

If I'm off somewhere and the weather is nice, I often will use the bed of my truck for tanning. I'm taller than 5 feet and I like the ability to be able to have room in there for when I read or eating. I put my stuff to the sides of me and they are within reach.

I can lay in a 5 foot bed at an angle, but that would throw me asunder.

As a matter of fact, when it came between choosing AC or DC, I climbed into the bed and lay down in them. The salesman had this WTH look on his face but I had to see if I fit. I came from a very large and deep walled Dodge Ram and was used to having room.

Sometimes I regret getting the AC when I haul people but if I had bought a DC it would be definitely the LB for its looks and utility. But I don't know if I will still be happy to drive it daily as it might be difficult to park.

Hahaha! I had to do a tailgate test, but he wouldn't let me open the beer I pulled out of my pocket though.

    Is plasti-dip a mod?
DC for me. Just traded a 12 AC 4x4 for an 11 DC, MagGrey. Kids are getting bigger...etc, etc. To each their own.

I love the "useless bed" comments. Yea... that 12" difference makes my bed useless

Like others mentioned - it just comes down to your needs.

No, I purposely sought out the access cab. I wanted the long bed, and extra room in the cab for tools and such. I rarely have more than one passenger, and more often than not, it is just me in the truck, so the access cab suited my needs better than the double cab would have.

Mine has this pretty sweet feature called a tailgate. I think it comes standard on most, if not all, tacomas. It's really neat - pull a little handle and the tail gate drops down increasing the length of payload! Whoa!
