Forgive me for my ignorance on this topic. I’m sure to some it will seem like a dumb question- but are the AC’s in these trucks anything like window units or HVAC units as far as it being best to wait 3 minutes before turning the AC back on again after turning it off? Is there any suggested wait period between turning it off and back on when driving? Or is clicking it off/on fairly close together generally harmless?

I mainly ask bc I had mine troubleshot recently when I asked a tech about the air recirculation button not turning off on its own sometimes (and other times it would). So when testing - it was turned off/on multiple times to try to duplicate, all within 30 seconds to a minute. Would hitting the off/on like that potentially cause any adverse effects with the compressor, etc? Or is that unlikely.

It just seems that since then, it doesn’t seem to blow AS cold as it used to - granted, it has been hotter temperature wise lately. It’s still fairly cool air - not warm, but not near as cold as my wife’s Rav4 AC. I may be imagining it, but wanted to check with some of the more knowledgeable folks on here to see the likelihood or at least to get a better understanding of how it all works.

Recirc only changes where the air over the evap is drawn from. In the cab or from outside. It should have no bearing on the compressor at all.

Recirc will always be more comfortable as you continue to de-humidify the cab, and you are using pre-cooled air, vs drawing in ambient air at a high humidity.

It was the A/C button that was being pushed on/off a few times after moving the knob to and from max a/c to reg a/c to see when or if the recirculation light would turn off. So the A/C power button was basically hit on/off multiple times in a quick period. Just curious if that could cause any issues.
