hey, does anyone else have really crappy AC in their taco? I have a 2015 with 20k miles on it and on really hot and muggy days, it doesn't feel cold at all

My '13 still gets cold enough to get my girlfriends nipples hard. So in other words, just right.

My 2015 PreRunner V6 blows 40F out center vents in 95F weather with humidity. My 11 yr. old Toyota Avalon blows 37F out center vents in same conditions.
Neither my '14 4Runner or '15 Tacoma blow as cold as my '06 Avalon.

My A/C has worked great since I got it. My sunglasses even get condensation on them when I get out of the truck.

You're under warranty, take it in & let them check it out.

Works great in my '14. Just did a 920 mile road trip. 200+ of the ride back home was in 100+ desert heat. The AC worked great

Mine doesn't feel very cold. Sometime it freezing but sitting feels like not cooling at all. Kinda like not pulling enough air through condenser.

    2014 26k miles.

Yeah, don't use those recharge cans on a new truck. It might just be a simple O-ring leak.

'15 with under 20k miles. I took mine to the dealership a couple weeks ago and told them that the AC wasn't as cold as it was when new. They checked it out and said that everything was "in spec". According to Toyota, if the AC blows at least 40 deg, then that is within it's operating range. I had also expressed concern that the fan felt like it was barely moving air at the lower settings and again, they said it was all "in spec". I have noticed that when the truck is parked and air is not moving through the condenser, the AC barely cools the ambient air, even on recirc. While I'm driving, it does a better job of providing cool air though, but still not what I would consider "cold". Checked/changed my cabin filter, but there was no problem there either. The guys at my dealer are actually pretty cool and don't try to bullshit me since they know that I do all my own maintenance on the truck (except for toyotacare :D). A few of them even come out when I'm there to ask what's new on the truck or what mods have I done since they've seen it last. The one thing they did tell me was that if the problem persists or gets worse, having them document it could help me get a solution from Toyota. I made it a point to blast the shit out of the AC since then every time I drive to try and force a ghost from hiding if there is something wrong with the HVAC system, but nothing so far. That was how I was able to figure out that the truck cools best when air is flowing through the condenser. I may try to add a "puller" style electric fan to the condenser if I can find one that will fit.

The only time mine works well is when I'm cruising at 70 downhill with the fan on 3 and the a/c on recirculate (max a/c).

Other than that, my 1989 Chrysler LeBaron did better at HVAC things. Including head and defrost.

Not OEM. Aftermarket option available on the street for $50

From what I understand about AC systems........

When an AC system is functioning correctly, it should produce air at the outlets that is ~40*F or around least 40*F cooler than the outside air temperature (on a cooler day...thermostat should tell compressor to cycle off). The compressor should cycle off before it reaches temperatures below 40*F. If the system produces air that is too cold (~30's *F), the evaporator coil is in danger of freezing up. This would reduce the air volume coming out of the vents, and produce warm-er air at the outlets at the same time.
