By filter you mean cabin air filter?
    Does the blower work?
    A/C light comes on?

So your blowing air but it's not cold and the compressor isn't engaging?

Then either the system is low or empty on refrigerant or there is a problem with the refrigerant pressure sensor or circuit or evaporator temperature sensor or circuit.
I think the next step would be to put service gauges on it and verify there is refrigerant in the system.

Does it have a head pressure switch. Some pressure switches are resettable.

Just a dual pressure switch but it's self resetting, it's off below about 24psi or above about 455psi.
It's on the liquid line below the radiator support on the right side, you could momentarily bypass it to make sure the compressor comes on but the refrigerant really should be checked with gauges.

    Electrician?

Clogged air filter on a fan / blower will draw less current, not more. But if you will feel better checking a fuse check the 50 Amp Heater fuse that supplies the fan power and IG1 No2 10 Amp Fuse that supplies the heater Relay and the power to the Magnetic Clutch.

But as stated above by Dm93 if blowing air but it's not cold and the compressor isn't engaging it is probably low on R134A.

Any recommendation for refrigerant hoses? Compatible with R134a please.
