My air conditioning and recirculation button turned off today. The ac light blinked off and on then. Hit them and they turned back on worked rest of trip. First time I've ever seen/ noticed this. I was going across Arkansas and punched it going uphill to get past big truck cause his lane was ending. Probably hit 80-85 mph was 100 F out. Trucks loaded up full bed and backseat with house stuff.
Did it kill it for power or is ac dying/need charge? :confused:2013 114k miles. :alien:

No, this is a common issue. I’ve just dealt with it for years as hitting the button seems to make it work again and it only does it like once every 6 months. Some people recommend replacing the relay (which I’ve done) but that’s hit or miss if it fixes the issue.

Ok I'll just keep hitting the button. Didn't want to lose my ac is all in a Texas August.

It only happens to me when I go through deep water. I always thought it was a designed protection for the A/C.

Yep, mine has started doing that - usually when it's really hot.

Sitting in the sun all afternoon when it's 110*F, then I'll start the truck and let it run before getting in, I'll see the A/C light blinking.

Same here, when it rains and have to cross deep washes afterwards is the only time I've ever seen this. I just turn my AC off beforehand water crossings nowadays... never had it happen any other time though.

https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/a-c-light-blinking-troubleshooting-guide.440200/ Try this link. This forum is hard to find stuff on. This one especially because its so common. There are tons of titles on this. But this is the best string of information. I had the same issue with mine and its fixed. There is a sensor that is mounted on the a/c compressor. Its mounted at the bottom of the compressor. When you go 4 wheeling the sensor gets wet, muddy, dusty ect... This string of information says to replace it. Which you can do if you like. But from my experience this sensor is a hull sensor. Try first to remove it and clean off the sensor and the mounting area. then reinstall it. This sensor is just like a abs sensor. These hull sensors can get crap build up on them. When that happens the signal can get weak and become intermittently false causing the system to not work. Yes this sensor that is mounted on the a/c compressor is a simple rpm sensor that tells the a/c compressor to shut off when there is a resistance in the pulleys or a frozen pulley. Any how I just cleaned mine and reinstalled it and it now works great! I Hope this helps you fellows.

Hi Kharth, it is an old thread, but did you ever fix your problem with the blinking A/C light?
    Was it the mentioned sensor?
    Thanks!!
