Given the lack of action/acknowledgement that the problems we are experiencing with our transmissions are likely due to a mechanical design flaw with the valve body, curious to know if anyone has reached out to any performance transmission shops to see what could be improved upon.

IPT offers a performance valve body for the Tundra's AB60E/F transmissions so I suspect asking them to look into our AC60E/F is not a stretch.

They are out of Hawthorne, NJ...anyone in that area able to work with them on investigating our options? If we can get a ~600-700 valve body like offered for the Tundra...I'd be all for it.

Here's the valve body they offer for the Tundra:

I am not sure the valve body would fix this thing. It shifts to soon is the problem. I run mine in ect all the time, that's the only way I can tolerate this dud.

I'm not really interested in talking about the programmed shift points as there's nothing that can be done about that unless you're able to develop a programmer for the TCU. I'm interested in a modified valve body to address the inherent lag in the time you make a throttle adjustment which triggers a shift 2-3 seconds later.

It's also very obvious in sequential mode. 2 seconds or so delay in telling it to shift and it responding. I've had it delay as long as 4 seconds before when cold and under some throttle...very telling of a mechanical flaw.

You shouldn't have to tell it to shift at 4k in first gear under WOT to keep it from bouncing off the rev limiter. That's what, IMO, a modified valve body can fix.

I contacted Sonnax 6 months ago.
They basically told me it was too new, with no current plans for product development.
I take that to mean they need to start seeing interest from their customers; transmission shops.
Currently, everyone's getting them 'serviced' by the dealer.

They have a lot of product for the Tundra AB60E/F.

$700 bucks is a tough pill to swallow for a reprogrammed valve body considering the manufacturer of the shift kit throw a couple stiffer springs at the accumulators in the valve body and call it a day .
I would wait until the aftermarket figures out what needs to be done to the AC60 series transmission to make it bullet proof.
We already know that a vast majority of these trucks had low fluid from the factory and serious leak down issues during a cold soak causing shift flairs to the direct drive circuit .
Aftermarket transmission shops will be busy with the 16/17 Tacoma very shortly
In the mean time when you know the transmission is going to delay in upshifting , take your foot of the gas pedal and let the transmission upshift with zero load on the transmission .Make certain your fluid is full and all latest technical service bulletins are applied .
I agree with Split and Sonnax . The AC60 series transmission is just a couple years old . You begin to see valve body fixes after these trucks run out of warranty . This is why you see all kinds of aftermarket fixes for the Tundra trans as its been around for a while .
