Accelerated while in crawl control. Could anything be damaged?

    Hi all,

Got stuck in some snow going uphill and stupidly tried out crawl control on my 2019 OR. Was not working and gave it a little gas and RPMs shot up real high. Got myself out by backing up and all that, but the high RPM mixed with the sounds during the whole experience got me worrying. Drove home 90 miles in a mix of 4hi (while on a snowy road) and 2wd and everything seems fine.

Is there anything I should be concerned about? Probably should have been a bit smarter and taken it out of crawl control before hitting the gas pedal.

    Nope you're overreacting. Everything's fine.

Applying throttle, or brake, with crawl control active is fine. Applying throttle has become a near necessity with 2020+ crawl control as it was tamed down significantly.

All the noises you heard were the normal sounds of the system doing it’s thing to modulate the braking to transfer power to other wheels.

    It's fine you're good.

    Hit the neutered CC again

    Repeat of 4x4 as well

Follow up from me: don't write off crawl control. It is a massive advantage. Used it twice last weekend instead of banging around all over the place.

Whew. Thanks everyone for the peace of mind. I'll use this as a fortunate lesson to not use features until I have fully researched them ha

Screw that use that crap before you need to.

I went to a easy open field and tried every setting multiple times in multiple ways.

Went back 4 or 5 different times and did the same thing. I have no questions on how to use anything on the truck. That way when you're uncomfortable, you don't panic and try and use something for the first time and trying to figure it out.

By the way, the truck is much much MUCH more capable than the average driver.
