hi i have a 2005 tacoma v6 4.0L started hesitating upon acceleration, especially around 2000 RPM. Then I give it some gas, it goes, then slows, then goes then slows but when i floor it everything is good just when she forces it seemed like the cats where plugged so i unpluged the rear back ones.... no difference when i went to check the two front ones there was already nothing in them just wondering maybe my problem was because the two front ones where already unpluged or this is not related at all to the problem

Have you ever cleaned your throttle body and MAF? If not I would start there.

How recent did you clean the throttle body? I did mine today and experienced the same thing.

You need to disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes or so to let the computer reset. The issues went away for me. Drives well now.

If a cat is plugged it'll sound like it's farting out the intake. It will run fairly well at low throttle, worst at full throttle. I had a honeycomb turn sideways and jam into the outlet on my Civic a few years back - not fun. I could barely drive home because it wouldn't go over 2500 rpm unless I really eased it there.

Almost sounds like A/F sensor to me if it runs fine at full throttle. Any pending codes?

Fuel filter? Plugs? Cheap things to check first.

Too many to list. See build page. Link in signature
interesting that the problems started only a week after several major maintenance projects. I would recommend you check the work you did. Maybe a faulty plug you installed or one slipped loose. Maybe damaged a spark plug cable or solenoid. My guess is when you cleaned the MAF it threw off the computer as mentioned already. Disconnect battery for awhile (id say 30+ minutes to be safe :notsure: ) then drive atleast 100 miles (not all at once) and im sure it will re-learn everything and problem go away. common after MAF cleaning.

I would say pop the boots off the plugs and make sure no broken plugs and make sure to get them back on tight.
