First, you should know this is very difficult to explain but here we go.

    I have a 2005 tacoma quad cab, 90,000 miles (2 wheel drive)

About last week i starting noticing a strange vibration from the engine or possibly the transmission. It seems when i start reaching the 25mph is when the vibration starts, and I also noticed that the rpm are at about the 1800 rpm. As if the transmission is having a hard time switching gears. I wanted to get your insight on this before i take it to be checked out. maybe its something i can fix with the assistance of you good folks.

I dont know what other details i can provide that would help, but i am willing to try any troubleshooting suggestions.

^^^x2 U-joints might be going bad. Crawl under your truck and check for excessive play in the joint. It's easier to replace a $135 U-joint versus a $2000 transmission.

Also, when was your last major service? $200 in parts and a weekend in time could solve your issue.
    -Spark plugs
    -Diff oil
    -Tranny drain and fill
    -Throttle body cleaning
    -MAF sensor cleaning
    -Engine oil and filter
    -Air filter
    -Fuel Injector cleaning
