where are you that it's 81 degrees in the morning?

Seriously though here is what Google says:

If you press both the accelerator and brake pedals simultaneously in a Toyota Tacoma, the Smart Stop system will intervene to slow the car and reduce acceleration, potentially triggering a "limp mode" and reducing speed.

Maybe it's the ESS system or battery? Do you have one of the traction control methods selected? I'm curious to what you find.

Maybe don’t press the gas and the brake at the same time? ‍o_O:facepalm::facepalm:

    Problem solved.

I'm guessing this was an accidental press. Looks like you can clear the warning without issue though.

Pick one foot to drive with and you probably won’t have this issue.

Did you try shutting the truck off and turning it back on to clear the warning?

Toyota was called out by the epa for building vehicles that are awesome burnout machines. They were forced to add an interlock that prevented amazing butnouts or be banned entirely from North America. This is the interlock warning you're seeing. ;)

In OP's defense, when I was a kid and always drove manual cars the first time I drove an automatic I did the same thing...

Is the issue that you didn’t have your foot on both pedals and the warning is popping up for no reason?

Or are you actually depressing both pedals and you need help figuring out how to clear the warning? I think the people are unclear on why you need help lol

There is an old thread where people had the same issue and a common cause was a taillight burnt out, I would pull both taillights and look at the bulbs and sockets to check for burnt out bulbs or damaged sockets and replace as needed. Or if you have aftermarket lights, or an accessory that requires splicing into the wiring I would check that as well.
