I noticed the accelerator pedal has a tiny bit of play, and even more when in cruise control. Is this normal? If not what can I check to diagnose it?

also sometimes the pedal gets a little bit stuck in the undepressed position. When I’m stopped and need to accelerate, it requires a firm push to loosen which causes the truck to jump forward from the abrupt acceleration. This doesn’t happen every single time I stop though. What could it be?

Replace the trottle cable. The cable runs through a sheething and it can get gunked up causing the gas pedal to stick. Over time the cable will strech. At the throttle body there is an adjustment nut to adjust the slack.
