New to this forum. Does anyone know the status as related to 2006 Tacoma Access 4 cylinder concerning the accelerator problem? Received a notice from Toyota in November informing me that more info would be forthcoming in the near future. Have not received any further notification on this.

I have noticed that the Tacoma isn't listed on the latest recalls

Plenty of other threads about this on TW. Tacomas weren't included in this week's issue. They were included in the floor mat recall last year. Do a search and you'll find plenty.

    Hi all Toyota lovers....
Lets get behind Toyota......they are like Subaru to me......the best...they are very good at what they do........Perhaps some one here could start a thread on support for Toyota.

Tacomas will prolly be in round 2 of the fix. A floor mat fix and a accelerator pedal fix are in the works. Toyota uses 2 makers of accelerator pedals. If your truck has brand X pedal it will get replaced if it has brand Y pedal it will get trimmed down. Still nothing set in stone yet.

Agreed. I have a Tacoma and my wife has a Subaru Outback. 2 of the best vehicles on the road especially living in the woods of New Hampshire.

I could be wrong but as I understand it people who already own the 'problem' pedals don't even get them replaced unless the tech can reproduce the stuck pedal condition. The "recall" is more of an inspection.

The problem is extremely rare, so as far as I'm concerned, my truck isn't going to get "fixed". I can keep my floormat off the accelerator pedal, and if the throttle would stick, I am smart enough to push the clutch and shut the key off before I crash at 120 mph. Perhaps if I run into problems with it sticking I will see about fixing it.

I see more tacomas and outbacks than any other make/ model up here in northern VT for a good reason. Their the most reliable in the snow and harsh driving conditions.
