accent lighting using ashtray bulb

I don't use the ashtray for anything but storing wipes for my glasses... I'm thinking of using a couple small LEDs or a small strip and wiring it in there and mounting it behind the center console so it lights up the floor wells.

Anyone try this?

 

the light inside the tray is "always on" when the running lights are on. so if you are going for the "ambient" lighting you will need to keep the running lights on.

may be easier to just wire a switch

 

Maybe I’ll do a little light to the center console...
