Acceptable speedometer error?

    I don't have a gps to check with, so good to know the 31.6" tire makes it dead on, that is what I have now. I thought it seemed like I didn't have to go as fast to keep up with traffic :cool:.

    yea with my lift and 285's mine shows about a 1 mph dif from the gps

    Did anyone ever figure out if there is a cheap way to recalibrate the speedo if you aren't wanting to buy new tires for a while? My speedo reads about 80 when I am doing about 73. A little bit too far off for me, mainly because I don't want my odometer racking up miles any faster than it should. (I would prefer slower than it should :))

    Just to clarify...

    The speedo should be off by a percentage, not a mile per hour... Mine is off by approx. 7%...

    About 2 mph at 30 -> about 4 mph at 60

    I'm just saying... Everyone posting in this thread says their speedo is off by "X" mph...

    I had my speedo re-calibrated on my '05 dodge 2500 at the dealership when I installed larger tires... They changed the "revs per mile" value...

    I don't know if this can be done on our trucks or not...
