Access Cab cap roof racks?

Hey all, what are some companies that make roof racks for long bed caps? I was bummed to see that front runner doesn't have one!

That is a nice looking rack!
But as with most stunning racks it's tough to find ones that don't cost small fortune.

Between full armor..skids..retrofit headlights and a nice rack/ basket for my cab and cap... I'm gonna have to win f*^ing lottery to be able to even start my build on t.w..

 

I think you can get Thule cross bars

 

X2 on this, i have thule rails and crossbars on my cap. Not trying to thread jack, but does anyone know if there are thule cross bars for access cabs for the truck? I have seen them on dbl cabs but have read that there arent many aftermarket options since AC's dont have the pillar between the front and rear doors to help support the weight. Id like to get some to match the thule cross bars on my cap. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance folks

What are you going to be mounting on it? Have to make sure it can hold the weight you intend to put up there..

 

Maybe a couple kayaks. Nothing too heavy. Ive seen a couple posts where peoples roofs/pillars have been damaged from overloading. If i have something heavy, ill probably just end up using the thule crossbars on my cap so if i damage anything itll be my leer

 

The Thule and Yakima track set ups work well. You can customize easily - adding bars to support more weight if needed. Guys run RTTs on them. They aren't really much cheaper (if at all) than the Prinsu, Frontrunner, Bajaracks, etc. when you figure out final costs.

 

Do bed and cap bars to spread the weight out. The boats are more secure with the tie down points being further apart too. I'm one of those with a damaged roof. It was user error though.

 

I see guys with them too. I fully understand the difference between static and dynamic ratings, I just don't think I would use a rack that cheap (seemingly to me) to mount an RTT let alone my 185 lb self in it..

 

Thanks for the tip! I also thought that spreading the weight out btwn the cap and cab would be a good idea. If you dont mind me asking, about how much did you have on the roof whenever you damaged yours? I want to make sure i try to avoid this..

 

I had a 100 pound canoe on it. No topper at the time, and no rear support mechanism. Even that was actually fine until the truck got air a couple times on the FSR on the drive in to the lake. With a bar up front and in far rear, there's no need for ropes at each end of the boat. Check out the picks in my build - roof carnage and a properly secured boat.

 

And when you find yourself in a "dynamic" sleeping situation, you don't want to be concerned about destroying your topper. That could kill your mojo.

 

Are these toploader brackets? My truck cap came with them already installed...
I want to buy the rest..

 

Now you just need towers and bars, and you'll be in the game!

 

What style/company towers will work with these brackets?

 

Not 100% sure, but they look like Yakima to me. I used to sell them back In the day. They might be an older style.
