So I made my dog platform pretty much the same as everyone else.
I used some left over 3/4 plywood and some scrap carpet I had and one 2"x3" about 45" long.
I cut the 2"x3" into 4 legs the same height as the folded seats so that the platform is mainly supported by the rear seats but I still wanted them there incase I need them. It just so happens that I can still slide my ammo cans in perfectly under the platform.
I made it as tight of a fit as possible so no paws can get stuck anywhere and I can use the rear seatbelt to clip in a harness strap for my pal to prevent him from flying around.
I made it as sturdy as possible because this is my pal Lou, he is almost 7 months old and about 70lbs, and he is nowhere near finished growing.
I also removed the lids on the compartments under the seats, so with nothing on the platform I can tilt it up, flip up a seat and have easy access to whatever I need.

Sorry for the pics being sideways.

Looks good. I bet before he gets much bigger he'll want you to get rid of those head rests though. ;)

Damn... I was about to jump on that dog platform until I saw I have to remove everything. :(

Just bought a 2015 AC and need to build a platform for my mutt. I'm down in southern maryland a lot too, since I own a house down in Great Mills.

Awesome man. Also those seat covers look like they fit snug..custom? Or what brand? I bought some universal ones at autozone they are always coming off, and starting to tear :/

Anyone have a ruff idea of measurements? I got a bunch of big scraps of carpet at work and it needs to be gone tonight. I don't have my truck with me and just want to make sure i grab enough before it gets thrown out. Any help is great.

Was gonna say get about a 4x8 piece, then you'll have some for the legs, or just some extra

Thanks! I grabbed two big pieces. Should be good for both. Now I just need to figure out how to get the corners and edges as near as you all did!

wrap it around the edge, leave about 2", and staple it down.

It's a little thick, might have to put a slice in the corner to get that clean look.
    Thanks again!

That's a nice platform, but my old girls, (dog variety, not wife variety..lol) need a ramp to get to a platform.. Come to think about it, the wife could use a ramp too...

Has anyone else noticed that the factory side steps are a complete PITA?

I added some dimensions to one of my pics a while back:

The back part is scribed around the seat backs.
