I forgot to post mine. I ripped out pretty much everything in the rear except for the under seat storage bins. I was going to remove those but determined it was more work than i cared for for a small gain.

I made mine out of 3/4" mdf which is overkill and wrapped it in just basic carpet from autozone. The rear wall i also applied some fatmax sound dampener since id removed the insulation attached to the rear wall.

The passenger side with. A fridge will go on this side. I also added in USB charging ports and a 12V port for the fridge/other accessories.

The drivers side i cut a access panel for easier access to my recovery gear and also to the storage bins. The passenger side storage bin isnt that accessible but im not worried as all that there is the bottle jack stuff plus spare oil filter and air filter that i shouldnt need (knock on wood). THe recovery gear looks unorganized but its actually pretty well organized! Just the air hose and warn winch controller make it look messy.

Cutting the access panel was interesting. id never done one with a 45 degree angle to it. Used a jigsaw to do it. it didnt come out perfect but its good enough for me. Without carpet it sat ~1/8" below and with the carpet on one side it now sits less than a 1/8" high so good enough for me! I thought about sanding the panel portion but screw sanding MDF!

I havent decided yet but i might add a cargo net on the back wall for holding things like paper towels and toilet paper

Here's mine I finished this weekend. I used 1/2" mdf board. Covered the board with egg crate foam and some automotive carpet.

I wanted it to be 2 pieces to make it easier to get in and out, and also to have the ability to only have one side in at a time if needed.

I used a seat cover to keep the dogs from jumping into the front seat. There's plenty of rooms for both of them to lay down in the back seat now.

My dog carrier w/ the suppor in the middle. It gives a little more storage space and its just as stable.

There's a leg that folds down behind the cubby. With it folded out it becomes a little card/drink table! kinda short but extra flat space is always useful when camping.

Just some string and screws for convenience, otherwise its a PITA when you take it in and out.

Built one like the OP's today. Pretty simple not having back seats. 2x4 across the back as a back leg. Went with 52"x21" and 11" legs. Just ever so slight of a slant to the back.

Looks Good. Does your truck have the "delete rear seats" option? Seems like a bit more room without the little back rests.

Yes it does. I think it does add a few inches without the back rests.

I want to do one of these for my 3rd gen but I'm not sure how to secure it. I'm def going to take out the rear seats. I want it secured very well as I'm going to use it as the platform that I mount my fridge to.

If you take out the seats and the 2 seat belt buckles in the center, you'll have 2 threaded holes to bolt the back down. Maybe that'll be enough for your purposes?

That's what I'm trying to figure out I guess is a way to utilize those existing bolt holes, and preferably even the existing bolts. I'm not sure how to actually interface the platform with those holes. I'm assuming I'm going to have to come up with some sort of bracket.

I toyed around with using the bracket that holds the rear center "console" on this lastest version I made. It was a pain to bolt down though and I went a different route. Guessing it is similar to V2, you could also use the center seat belt bolt holes, or the bolt holes for the seats. This is assuming they didn't change up the back seat too much. Can you post a picture of the back seat? Did they happen to put speakers back in the rear doors also?

I'll get some pics when I can but at a glance it looks like everything is more or less the same in the back, but yes they did put speakers back into the back doors. I was happy to see that.

I like the Toyota logo. Pretty legit.

We cooled them out some kind of pull out drawer underneath. Similar to alunimum ones made for truck bed for cooking.

Did you cut or hinge anything to get to the storage bins.

I'm doing this mod soon after I find more time. Our trucks are twins...
I did make some handy hanging type knobs with large rubber spacers for grocery bags and maybe a bungee net in the future.

This is the bolt(s) arrangement underneath everything.
Missing is the corner pieces that support each rear corner. My truck is a utility package so no rear belts or seats. If you look close you could also capture the very strong nut that holds the webbing reel to the rear seat belts. You would have to remove the rear set be,to to do this though. Not sure if that much work is what you want. You can see the two large bolts towards the middle, those are you buckle securing bolts. I may try to use the corner reel bolt location since I don't have anything there, I'd should work great to secure each rear corner as I might want to secure items to the platform and not worry about them coming o ear on me in a crash.

This is an awesome post. I have been very annoyed by my dogs flying around in the back. I did one search and boom, solution. I started building one yesterday from scrap in my garage. Just have to get the carpet for install.
