Finally got my '16 TRD OR AC quicksand truck last week and really loving it. I've only had one issue so far, but I'm not sure it's even an "issue". I did some searching and couldn't turn anything up.

My front doors seem to shut weird. I'm not sure if this is just the way they are because of the rear door, but they seem to "clunk" hard when shutting the fronts. Almost like the door is out of alignment. Other AC owners notice this too or is this something I should get looked at?

An access cab truck's front door will sound different than double cab truck's door because the Access cab has no pillar between the door. The result is it doesn't sound as solid when it is shutting in my opinion.

I had to get used to closing/hearing the doors close also on my truck. My other trucks, Ford Ranger and Chevy Colorado closed more easy and quietly. Must be a Toyota thing.

    all tore up already
does take a bit more effort than closing the door against a pillar but does not require any more effort than my previous ac truck or rx8. just part of the design.

edit:jack up one corner of your truck and you will know what a misaligned latch feels like

I understand the no pillar and the extra effort required to close a truck door. The weird part is that the door seems to "clunk" over the door latch. If you don't close it hard enough, it just bounces off of it. Both sides are about the same though.

It may just be that the seals are new. Next time you drive by a Toyota lot, see if there's another new access cab and see if the doors feel similar. Figure out where the latch is hitting the striker. If it's hitting a little low, here is what I would do.

Open the door about a foot, and cup your hands under the rear bottom edge.
Lift with your legs like you're trying to pick up the rear end of the truck by the door.
Start slow. First, put as much force as you would need to pick up a 50 pound sack of feed or something.
Try door again. Check where you're hitting the striker.
If it's a little better, put some muscle into it and try again.

That's how a body shop, dealer, or used car lot would adjust it. I've been using this technique on cars/ trucks for 30 years with great results.

I've experienced this, too, but my truck (2013) was flexed at the time. Went back to normal on flat ground.
