i have never found the Tacoma (or any pickup truck) to be a 'family' or more-than-2 type of vehicle, and never should be considered as such
those should be sourced as 4Runner, Landcruiser, Camry, Corolla, etc etc etc
let the men keep their trucks like they keep their garage/workshop for themselves and family take the bigger car or real SUV :crapstorm:

The Ridgeline still only has a 5000# towing capacity, so no advantage there. I've towed a popup with my doublecab all over the western US, it does just fine. I don't know about leg room. It might have marginally more room, if we're comparing similar years vehicles. New ones are obviously bigger.

Also, they are among the ugliest trucks out there. Worse than stepsides! not worth it :puke: :boink:

Probably because you have an extracab...

As we've seen here, the double cab is perfectly capable of handling a family of 4. That's literally what it was designed for.

Lucky! My truck was manufactured 12/2002 even tho it’s a 2003, and 2003 was the first year anchors became required.

It doesnt sound to me like you are set on a first gen tacoma.

I’d suggest you start looking at second gens if that is the case. There are more family friendly and there are more to choose from with more safety features since they are newer.

Or a 4runner as somebody said or whatever works best for what you want to use it for.

First gens are great but why spend the premium if you arent an enthusiast?

2nd gen is kinda the same way, just more room. To me, the 2nd gen back seats are still uncomfortable.

Sorry, being a newb, i didnt realize 1st gen is at a premium. We just need a flatbed for hauling stuff, with the ability to put the kids in the backseat if needed.
