being the market leader even if they only sell a small percentage of access cabs thats still gona be a substantial amount of trucks and worth their time to build. especially since it shares same wheelbase platform as the dcsb. personally id even prefer a regular cab over the access cab but its the next best thing

Me too although the xtracab was perfect for giving room for a tool box, hunting gear or a few grocery bags. Some of us don't need a people hauler and would rather have the extra space of the access cab in bed length.

I would never replace my access cab. Three years in, and I have never regretted not being able to plant a butt in the back. The truck feels more nimble in all driving conditions.

Yep, family is grown, and no need to taxi the neighborhood around. Just need enough room to store my more valuable items inside i often use when outdoors. The extra cab leaves me with a 6' bed thats been more than handy than carting stuff in a 5' bed i'd have trouble with.

Except the DCSB is the highest selling config of 3rd gen Tacos. No matter the trim/engine choice.
AC is realistically only feasible if you don't have kids or always drive solo. Nobody beyond the age of 10 fits back there.

I love my AC tho, as a single dude with dog.

My wife and I have travelled across Central, northern and eastern Canada, in the Tacoma. It could use a smoother transmission, but it is a great truck on the highways, or in the muck. The 6’ bed allows us to load everything we need on these trips, and I can haul everything from a large couch, a bed, dresser, bags of soil, etc.,. A short bed would have likely drawn me to a boring SUV

An access cab manual transmission Pro might have had more pull on my wallet than my brain could control. :spending:

Having an AC was a large part why I bought a Tacoma over a Gladiator. I didn't need the rear seats and I preferred the 6 ft. bed without the length of the DCLB.

    For sure!

I see many DCLB in Canada. Not so much in the USA.

IMHO Canadians use their trucks more as trucks, hence the DCLB is popular in Canada.

I put a deposit down today for a 2022 Tacoma Access Cab TRD OR with Ralph Hayes Toyota. TRD Access Cabs are very rare with Southeast Toyota so I don't expect a quick delivery. It wouldn't surprise me if I got it late Spring or Summer of 2023.

After having 2 dual cabs, I just picked up an access cab. I figured I better get one before they stopped making them with a manual.

    Check build thread!
The only thing I’d get rid of my access cab for is a single cab, 7-8ft bed Tacoma. That’ll never happen, so ACLB ftw.
