I don't have any more detail shots of that area, sorry. Those plugs I believe are open directly through to the top of the rear cab mounts.

You should be able to run wiring through without taking the cross member off, there's plenty of room to snake through on the inside - you would just have to see if there's room underneath. You'd need to find a way to waterproof whatever opening you made, of course.

Additionally, there are two small sections on either end of the cross member (unpainted bright steel) right over those plugs that are easily removable with one hex head.

This is great information. Thank you!

    Definitely gives me some ideas.

Edit: I have a DCSB, but it looks like I have the same caps. Need to dig into it further.

I did my back wall and doors and parts of the floors with that same stuff but never seen the mlv stuff. It definitely helps with noise and it makes my rear windows mod quieter and you gotta love the thud sound when you close the doors it sounds like well build like cars from the 60’s-70’s67FAAE53-B55B-4448-A6DB-DEEB22A59C85.jpg151EC682-656B-4024-911B-29B48ABD3254.jpg

    None yet!!
My husband installed the deading liner in my Taco, but I still have the road noise. He thinks it is coming from the vents that are on the back corners - something to do with opening and closing the doors. Anyways, I asked him if they could be covered over also and he said no.
Has anyone out there done anything to the vents so that the noise is gone?

Most people report a lot of noise coming from the vent that goes through the rear wall. General consensus is that the vent is there to equalize the pressure when you open/close the doors and also in case of an airbag deployment. Some people stuff the vent with open cell foam or even plug it entirely, although some people also say that they notice their A/C doesn't blow as hard with the vent obstructed.

If you can tell it's actually coming from the CORNERS, as opposed to the pressure vent (which is roughly center and 1/3 of the way from the top of the back wall) it may be those plugs I highlighted, or it may be coming from the actual corners of the cab behind the trim that I didn't remove above. Did he do the entire cabin including doors? I know that my next step is the corners behind the factory trim and the rear suicide doors, and then I'll work my way forward to the front doors and then maybe the floor and front wheel wells.

FWIW, you'll never get your Taco to be Caddy quiet (well, not never, but not without SIGNIFICANT time/materials investment).
