This was a no brainer for me. I have two kids and needed the dc as this is my primary vehicle. What are you going to use the truck for? Make sure it fits in with your lifestyle, hobbies and habits.

No kids, so I went with access.

If I have to drive and we have 3-4 people, I take wife's RAV-4.

I bought my truck before I knew my wife was pregnant...so my priorities were Long Bed for my motorcycle, and manual. They had an AC on the lot with both of those, so I got it.

If I knew about my son. Woulda got a double cab hands down. The kid seats work in the back of the AC, but there is just more room and capability in the DC.

So I agree-If you married and have or might have kids or go out with friends alot...DC. Otherwise...I really like my AC.

Actually long bed is just a standard size bed on these trucks. A actual long bed is 8 foot.

Just a bunch of old crap
I don't like to haul people, so making them stuff in the back seat of my AC is glorious. I prefer to just have one passenger at a time and not become a taxi. I would love to have the back seat storage space of a DC, and if I could do it again I would have probably gotten the DC. But, my AC works just fine for me because my kids are grown.

OP it comes down If you want a People mover or Air hauler ??

But you can only get both in a DCLB only in Auto.

I wanted AccessCab but my father convinced me last minute to buy Double Cab. Since I wanted a 6MT, Double Cab was not on my shopping list as I wanted to avoid 5' bed. Ended up buying just that, DCSB 6MT. I just learned to accept its shortcomming and got a bed extender. I think it was the better choice for me in the long run. I bought this truck for the next 10+ years and I plan to have family and kids by then. Provided it is still reliable by then, I won't have any reason to trade it for another vehicle and can keep using it as DD and family hauler enjoying not having any monthly payments. Also in the meantime I was able to do a few major road trips with 4 and 5 adults that would not be possible with AC.

Btw. it still fit my Suzuki DR650 with the tailgate down, so its not that bad.

To me it is a no brainer if you need or want the V6 and auto. I actually considered the Access cab until I saw the price diff.. Then add in the resale value and it is a no brainer. Also availbility is an issue. At least where I am at. Here are the numbers I just got from the dealer. This was the last order right for Gulf States. Access Cabs - 0%, DCB 4x2 Pre Run I4 AT- 12%, DCB 4x2 Pre Run V6 AT - 45%, remainder are DCB 4x4s.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I got a AC because I never haul anything back there except my toolbox and extra coats. If I needed to haul people I would have gotten a 4Runner. I got a Ford Bronco for that if need be, it can seat 5 comfortably and 6 if they are willing to squeeze in a little.

Double cab all the way. Why would you buy the AC? You'll need the extra cab space eventually. Get the DC

I'm sure those extra inches come in handy from time to time  but I don't like driving a limo. Although if I could go back and knowing I'd put a toolbox and all other what nots back there I might change my mind.

Depends on your needs. I have a DCSB and its perfect for everything I've done so far (my piece of mind is my F-250 8 ft bed) if i have to haul something. I love the DCSB
