What do you throw in your back seat area? Tools, coolers, dogs, kids? Did you build a platform or use it as is?

I carry my 15 and 18 year old grandsons with me sometimes and one of them rides in back. Doesn’t mind it. I asked them if I should get a DC and they told me I should stick with AC if I like it. I’ll probably give this truck to them one of these days.

Groceries... kayak paddles... small cooler... would love to remove seats and build out like this cat did.
Would hang my fly-rods and/or an AR-15 would look nice back there. Would be a nice setup to bring
    the pups along too.

Use mine mostly to hold groceries, work stuff and first aid/survival stuff. Also have a platform on mine built as cheap as possible (considering the circumstance of lumber pricing); link to it here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/access-cab-dog-platform.503276/page-4#post-25257437.

The hinges were clutch, easy to take the platform out in a jiffy, which I had to recently to shuttle my buds for river tubing.

As a bonus, I used the leftover pine board to make my computer desk.

Personally, I love my AC taco because it's like using a "2 person" tent; in real life you're basically spooning in a tent that size, and there's no room for your gear, so it's basically 1.5 person comfortably, or 2 people in a pinch. i.e. nobody thinks to use my vehicle for rides unless necessary (like tubing, the bed providing storage to haul all the gear)

I keep a shovel, pick, blue tarp, duct tape, hacksaw, chloroform, nitrile gloves and a few cliff bars. In the old access cab.

Most of the time the cargo area in the Access Cab is bigger than I need to carry my tools, hunting gear, groceries or two Dachshund's. Personally, I would rather have the size of the old X-tra cab space and a longer bed. I never understood why the Mfg.'s did not have space behind the seat in a regular cab, 8' bed truck for storage. If we need a lot of inside storage we can take the our Forester.

I've got a couple rubber/plastic tubs buckled in with the seat belts sitting on the rear seats full of gear holding everything i need.

I normally keep the seats folded up. But I'm glad to have them in reserve in case I have to give a ride to some extra (small) people.

The space is handy for carrying the groceries, etc. Stuff that's inconvenient to put in the bed.
