I wanted the TRD Sport. Up here it only comes in a DCLB so I got theDCLB. I set the seats down and used the space for storage and it works great with the option of reverting back to seating. I don't find the truck overly long. No issues there.

I can't get past the carry over AC cab sandwiched between the new front and back end on the 16's. The new, old, new just looks odd to me. I have too many dogs to make an AC work. Not enough space, and the suicide doors would be a huge pain in the ass when loading/unloading them.

DC just flows better IMO...and it is just an opinion. The squat cab of the AC just looks out of place to me sandwich between the new sheet metal. Even if they had just updated the window cutout on the suicide doors, I think it could of looked a whole lot better.

I chose the AC specifically because of the bed. I put a softopper on the back of the truck and the bed is the size of a full sized futon mattress. You can comfortably fit two people and a dog in the back of the truck with the tailgate up when camping and an entire sofa in the back when hauling. You did decide on a truck for a reason, right? Use that bed and get an AC. The jumper seats are an easy way of letting people know that you are a man of utility! If you wanted a cushy California SUV, you should have just gotten an SUV.

Best looking truck is a lifted regular cab 4x4. Worst looking truck is the double cab longbed in 2wd. I think you can figure out how everything else fits in between.

But think about how many Senco nails you can put in that extra foot of bed space!

    Indubitably

For me, money wasn't an issue. I chose the AC because that is what I wanted. The rear seats of a DC would have been a complete waste of space for me as I would never use it for passengers. The AC rear area is more than enough for stuff I want to put inside the cab like my huge gear bag for going to the track or out dirt biking. And yes, personal preference was a big part of my decision, as I just like the AC look better and have zero need for a DC configuration.

Well, they say opinions are like belly buttons...everyone has one. I'm both old and old school. I grew up in a time when pickups had 2 doors and a bench seat. I get all aquiver when I see a 56 F1, or a 65 Chevy with the short step side bed. In my opinion, the AC is the best looking truck available. At the risk of offending some DCSB owners, I just can't get used to the little "wanna-be" pickup bed. Reminds me of an Explorer Sportrac. And the DCLBs just looked like someone played tug of war with it, if you know what I mean. Let's see...is there anyone left that I didn't offend.

I know mine's a 2nd gen, but my son bought a 2016 AC TRD sport in January and it's a good looking truck...not as good looking as mine, mind you, but a good looking truck just the same.

Many of you have stated you prefer the look of the RC, and I don't disagree. But when I bought my truck the regular cab wasn't available as a PreRunner, and that's what I wanted. Plus, I've had a regular cab Nissan Frontier and a Ford Ranger, and while they were fun little trucks, I needed more cab space.

But when it's all said and done, aren't you glad we have the choices that we have? Life would be boring if we all drove the same kind of truck.

Agreed, I wish I didn't see as many Toyotas on the road as I already do.... There's probably 25 - 30 Tacomas, Tundras, FJs and 4runners in my parking lot at work alone.

A man of utility would have gotten the utility package, not some fancy TRD.
