Love this thread. I would say it even caused me to buy an access cab. My double cad silverado got totaled and I needed to buy another work truck. I looked at all the options and almost got a dcsb because they are so readily available. But, i feel I need the 6 ft box so I started looking at only dclb. Found three nearby and was going to possibly buy one of them. Then I saw the pics on this thread and realized how much better they look and since they are a foot shorter or so they would be a little easier to park and manuver. The access cab has plenty of room for the tools I keep up front.
So I started looking for access cabs with the 3.5 in gray or silver. Could not find any in the twin cities that I wanted. The day that I was going to go buy the silver dclb I saw the dealer had an off road access cab in gray in transit. Showed up monday and I picked it up tonight. 38,218 before taxes license.

If i was buying the truck for work and I dont carry passengers, it would be an Access Cab, but i need the ability to transport passengers along with cargo so the Double Cab makes more sense for my use. Also, a longbed would be too long to fit in my enclosed garage so shortbed it is.

Love my access cab. These are much roomier in the back than the first gen. An average full size adult could sit back there for a short trip with no problems. I Chose the sr to keep the cost low and to eliminate a bunch of unnecessary crap I dont need. Even the lowly SR has a ton of tech and handy features i wasn't expecting (still no vanity mirrors), add foglights, bed lights, legit tires and wheels, a few functional mods and bam you have a capable 4x4 pickup with a few upgrades for under 30k. Access cab is where it's at for me.20200725_142926.jpg

And ACs are for young punks whose nuts haven't quite descended and can't grow a beard worth a damn.

    Lol same here.
Haha no way, TW DCSB owners are younger than AC owners by far on average. Run a poll and you’ll see.

I wonder what the percentage is as far as manufacturing DC vs. AC. Had a hard time finding my AC Tacoma in the sea of DC’s.

I'm new, many mods planned, short bed was never an option. You're buying a truck because it's a truck not an SUV with a tiny basket in the back!! Suck it up and get a DCLB if you want the the double cab sheesh.

Look at all this glorious soil I can haul

Oh also, I'm 6ft and can sleep in the bed with the tailgate up. I just assume everyone with a short bed is 5ft or shorter. XD
