We road trip with the truck, plenty of cab space for the two of us. Bought it because it looked cool. Never even looked at the double cab models.

It just looks proportionate. Now show me a double cab with the exact spec and I wouldn’t like it as much

is this a stock setup? I don’t believe I’ve seen a sport with that grille. And I don’t remember if the hood scoop came on the sport

I rather have a regular cab than access cab. But I rather have double cab than any at this moment in my life.

Sport with an SR 5 grille -- I like to be different but not stand out if that makes any sense. Pulled the chrome badges off too.

Edit: Don't want to stand out but I bought a bright orange truck. :anonymous: It looked cool...

Finally some access cab love lol. There are so few threads specifically about the access cab. I love my access cab but if i needed to carry more people i would definitely go with a Dclb I can’t live with out a six foot bed anymore. I wanted the acces cab so i could get the longer bed with the shortest wheel base possible

I love my access cab for just me- although the parking situation can get a little tight when people park too close. I also feel bad when I have more than 1 passenger. I haven't tried carseats in the back yet, should be interesting when my sister flys in to visit with her kids. Anyone got photos with some carseats in the access cab?

toyota has made the ‘ X ‘ cabs................... not exactly access cabs no swing doors

some model years just had a few Xtra inches

    some more of a cubby

‘ Access ‘ cabs with swing doors of different sizes

seems as tho they try to keep an engineer workin from a broom closet down the hall employed

they have mixed/matched several combinations over time

for short hops kids in the back might work............if they dont mind

better suited for a pet altho they like shotgun window down

i dont like the idea of kids in back in case o an accident .......................................

I don't see why the back wouldn't be safe. My 08 has all the clip in points for all the carseat buckles and the upper strap... but just for one carseat on the passenger side...

I have nothing against 4 proper doors. I had a 13’ Titan awhile back, loved it apart from the mileage...
The one thing I’ve always found so unpleasing on the eye about the SB is the lack of space between the rear wheel and the cab. Apart from this and the shorter box I have no issues. It’s still a taco and I think if you off road your truck at all the dclb wheel base isn’t really a good option.

If you have kids then I don’t see how an AC is an option either, unless you hate your kids. My girl and I are trying for our first, and the sad reality that I may have to part with my AC looms nearer

    I have each

I prefer the look of the ac

in fact I only bought the dc bc it’s what was available in a stick at the right price

but since then and bc I use it for work I have come to appreciate the extra interior space it provides

Have you thought into luring her into a new vehicle for herself? Maybe a 4 runner so you could keep the AC? That’s what I’ll be trying when the wife finally pulls the goalie. That way if I need to take the kids somewhere we can swap cars and it will still feel like the same driving experience

That spot you circled is exactly where I look to see if a taco is a DCLB or DCSB. It’s so odd looking on the short beds. Almost like some part of the truck was chopped and then squeezed together.

Ya, it just looked off to me.

As for the kids, I’m hoping to go that route, but ultimately it’s always about compromise. My 15’ has 36k on it, it’s a fucking baby itself for 5 years old...
