If my lady doesn’t want a 4 runner and for me to keep the truck I’ll wind up just spending 6-10k on a Subaru forester or outback for a daily and make the Tacoma my weekend chore/camp truck. I’ll probably save some money doing than rather than buying a brand new DCLB.

I love my Access Cab. Weighing selling the shell though as I no longer have a day-to-day need for it. Was considering selling the whole truck but I think I'm gonna stick to my guns and keep her for a decade or more.

Ever thought of a softopper? If you don’t need the day to day use you could easily take it on and off

I haven't, but I don't really have a need for any topper any more.

After reading this thread I'm assuming DCLB trucks are rare? Yes I do see a ton of DCSB trucks I just thought with today's ever shrinking garages on mega mansions the DCLB don't fit anymore in today's houses?

That being said I guess my DCLB in inferno is pretty rare?

But it's nothing like the color on unchained f150's truck that's one color I've never seen

Inferno isn't all that common of a color to begin with. When we road trip I keep an informal mental tally of Tacoma spottings, often I can go all day and not see another Inferno.

Reg cabs look awesome i had a first gen when i was single and was perfect, do not like the look of access cab and now w kids double cab for the wins and sexy looking. Wish I could get a doble cab long bed in manual, that would be the best.
The 2nd gen reg cab with 3rd gen front end to me looks beautiful!

I have the same thing, minus the flares. Love it! Working on a chase rack for it.

Popularity for DCLB and different bed lengths in all trucks is difficult to measure. Most car buying sites only let you narrow down by number of doors or body styles. Couple that with price shopping and the only people buying DCLB's are people that want DCLBs.

For the majority of buyers, though, they just want a Tacoma, and the DCSB body style just meets their wants or needs at the price they want to pay.

Well I started with an AC (small kids at the time) because I wanted the long bed for all our camping gear. As the kids got bigger the back just didn't work for them as far as comfort went. Traded in the AC and got a DCSB, the kids are happier now and we've made the SB work for camping. They both have their pros and cons, so it's really based on what you need or maybe want. That said, I'm here to represent the DCSB tacos :D

See I'm just the opposite, I think extended cab long beds look silly, and DCSB's look more modern. I also am married with 3 kids, so the need for the DC is a must. I respect everyone's ideas and opinions though. This world would be boring otherwise.

    My DCSB.

They are OEM flares. I have RekGen flaps on there as well. They bolted right on.

ACLB here. After owning a vehicle with access doors already (FJ), it's hard to justify the useless room when I don't drive any more than my girlfriend and the dog. Plus, Toyota found a way to inflate the prices on these trucks considerably, so if I was going for something 4 door, my sights would have been on the Tundra. Also, I've opted for a dog platform in the back, because why not?
