Lots of people still think the 5footer can't do work lol

    edit:

Looking at this picture again, it seems like the 6footer would still have needed to have the tailgate down.

I searched FB marketplace and found these, under a hundred bucks for 2 sets of kayak racks. Do yourself a favor and pickup some stainless hardware for them. The ones mine came with were rusting pretty bad after a trip to the beach. I bought some stainless hardware and lock nuts to replace those with.

If going new, Access Cab with utility package. Gets all that stuff out of the rear in advance for you.

Not hard to add back a few trinkets to the truck that the more gussied up ones have.

    Yep.

In “proper truck” terms, short bed is 6, long bed is 10, now that makes a hell of a difference.

access cab with utility package. Back seats are useless unless you're haling kids around. I need a 6' bed, truck=bed for my use.

Although my 10 footers fit in the bed ok and rise up over the tailgate fine, I like this setup - tell me about this system, where can you get it.

I'd rather have the seats for standby use, than not have them. How much usable space do you save by deleting the seats?

A LOT. I’ve had my SR Utility stacked up from floor to the bottom of the rear window.

$1,710 off for not having seats I would never use.

Another option is just pull the headrests and useless rear console (if 3rd gens have those) instead of a full delete. That's what I run. My plywood dog platform sits on top of the jump seats folded down so I have the option to use them if I ever need to. Then I have my toolboxes under the platform and can stack crap on top of the platform if needed (realistically I just put the gear in the bed because the pup is back there most of the time).

About as much as four of those butt pads that grandma puts on those rock maple dining room chairs. In other words, not much. Maybe one cubic foot ?

If think you need 4 doors and also think a 5' bed is "sufficient", you should just get a RAV4.

    No joke
    I actually did that!
Still need a truck for local truck stuff so I'm looking for an older 3/4 ton beater that I can abuse and not feel bad about some dents/dings and weeping fluids ;-)

Rav4 couldn't have hauled 2 tons of gravel for me last year when I needed a cheap extra parking spot.
It also couldn't have hauled my washer and dryer, along with other furniture to my new home earlier this year. All in the 5footer.

Your comment is just ignorant on the capabilities of these trucks.

Riiiiiiight. Whatever makes you feel better about your purchase. I’ve hauled wood for my deck, supplies for my years, and more.

gotta love the people who think whatever they buy is better then what other people buy
