As far as a reg cab goes the 4cyl 4x4 manual 5 SPD is where its at 4.10 gears it does great for towing is miserable on the highway though mine had 88k on it and was getting 17 mpg with 265/70/17 grabber at2s and a 3 inch lift loved that truck

When I got my access cab thou the 4cyl is very lacking though don't think you can get an access with 4.10 gears so with the access the v6 is the way to go

I had a regular cab ZR2 S-10 for a weekend/hunting truck last fall and I hated not having space to store stuff in the cab. It was a great truck, and it got me through deer season, but I sold it simply because it was a regular cab. All depends on what your needs are I guess...

    Too few to list.
Space shouldn't be an issue on a regular cab, that's what the bed is for. If it's passenger space, the access cab rear seats are not really meant for any drive longer than 30 minutes as they are uncomfortable. 4cyl vs 6cyl, I test drove both. Bought the V6 but does not come in regular cab. Regular Cab to me looks the coolest lifted in 4x4 just like the pic above.

Thats a really nice looking truck! How much lift? how big of tires?

On topic though I just got a 14 reg cab 4cyl 5 speed 4x4 and its got lots of power in hilly western pa. First tank though it was 23mpg too! So i wouldnt worry about power or mileage.

I have a RC 4x4, manual. The power is fine, totally adequate without being overpowered in any way. It'll got 80 on the freeway or haul a full load with no issues. Mpg is ok, I seem to consistently get 21/22, sometimes better.

The extra space of an access cab would be nice, but the extra weight and length not so much.
