You can get factory refurbs from Critchfield around the 160.00 mark.

:der: I keep forgetting that the Amazon Store is right there...

I will have to look at my budget, but that is something I plan on having by the end of May. Especially since my wife wants to upgrade her JBL subwoofer in her Rav4 - she isn't upgrading until I get one to begin with! ;)

    Mark,

The EBay's prices seem to the best at 153.00 with shipping. I bet I find myself pulling the trigger on this before the weeks end. I don't think I can put a sub/box in for the same price. I will take pics of the install if I do it and let you know...

Now about your wife...well I won't ask you for the updates on that.

I appreciate it. I hope to do something sooner rather than later, but I just got finished installing DRLs and Tint. Add those on to a move to San Antonio, and I am poor. I hope it goes well. If so, I will soon follow suit. :D

    Cheers.

There's another option for fitting 2 10" subs in the Access Cab without losing any storage.

    http://www.xtremekreations.com/fabrication.html

I've got a set that I'll be installing in the next few weeks and will post comments once it's all hooked up. These guys came up with the slickest solution I've seen for Access Cab bass. The panels are far more sturdy than anything I was expecting and the installation isn't bad. Cutting some plastic is really the worst of it.

Good luck with you installation and post pictures when you're done!

Richie, I am not sure what the access cabs look like. I have the double cab but I am sure from what I have seen in pictures that they will fit. Those are the perfect choice if you are going with 8". I would recommend you build the box out of fiberglass to give you the most air space if possible. Also, make sure you get an amp that will power the subs to their full potential.

i plan on getting this done by professionals or i hope they will be professionals because i am not too familiar with building sub boxes. In my area, i have a few car audio shops but i don know which of this places wuold be able to do the best job? is al and ed's a respectable place to get this done at? i know they are probably the biggest and most well known in my area or will all the places be able to do a nice custom job with fiberglass?

    Just enough, and never enough
if you do raise your seat make sure it is done up to par. i had an audio shop from my hometown that did this to my back seats in my extended cab f 150 the lifts were just mdf pieces screwed together and eventually a friend sat back there and the seat fell off the wood from the weight. i dont sugest lifting the seats at all. be more inginuitive and make something that you will be proud to own.

Wow this is a blast from the past that I totally forgot about! I've not had any luck coming up with anything that I felt would work well under the seat however I do finally have a "not too obtrusive" design for the Access cab. I won't have time to start producing them for a couple of weeks yet however as I mentioned in another thread I will have plans available soon for those that want to try and build it for themselves. :)

The ones I've seen typically just cut and drill out flat steel washers although I have heard of people trying wood I wouldn't recommend it.
