Accessories color on a silver 4-door

Guys,
Ive got a silver 2010

$151 4-door QAA is Compatible with 2016-2020 Toyota Tacoma 6 Piece Stainless Body Molding Insert Trim Kit, 1.5" Width MI16172

4-door long bed. Im looking to add step rails and low profile tool box, at the least. Whats everyone's opinion on what color to go with? Chrome or black?

I assume that you dont want to mix colors. I have read that chrome tool boxes can cause reflection problems. That makes me think black is the way to go. And if mixing is bad, i would assume that means i would go with black step rails / running boards.

Thoughts? Pics?

i hate chrome but chrome would look best on silver. silver is my favorite color.

I hate chrome so my vote goes for black.

 

not a chrome fan. i see it too much on the older generation and "ethnic" vehicles.

 

I vote color matched step bars and black toolbox.

I see many of the older guys here with a lot of chrome accessoires (door handles, bug deflectors, window visors, etc) I think too much chrome accessoris look horrible. But if done right, they look great. However, i like black stuff better

 

Black should look nice with silver. Plus if you scuff it, you can do a quick paint touch up.

 

Sliders? Ive never heard or read anything about side steps folding... Do you have pics of these sliders?

 

Sliders are much stronger than steps. They're designed to take a heavy hit (rocks). Side steps would just dent and fold. As Oswego mentioned, they're strong enough to jack the truck up with, using a high lift jack.

Here are some CBI sliders with a kickout at the back (not my truck). I have some without the kickout that I need to put on.

 

My vote is for black.
As far as chrome toolboxes causing reflection problems, I don't think its an issue with a double cab. I had em in my single cab ford and it definately put a good reflection in the cab of the truck, when I got an extra cab, the reflection wasn't noticeable.

 

yeah those sliders look pretty sweet...i hate running boards on vehicles...i would go with sliders or nerf bars...just do whatever matches your bumpers and mirrors and stuff...if you have chrome go with chrome if black go with black

 

For the OP, Nerf bars are step bars and not sliders.
