The dealers I shopped at in the Salt Lake area all offered to order me any accessories I wanted no matter the brand. Not sure if they're willing to order just accessories if you're not buying the truck.

They're a little outside your area but check Karl Malone Toyota (Draper, UT) and Larry H. Miller (Sandy, UT).

Yet you can't find your own parts supplier to spend $1500 of free money without asking others to do it for you.

Trying to cover all bases and ask other forum members what they found and maybe have more info. Is that not making an effort and also what a forum is for?

Sorry for any wrong words, most of my posts are on a cell phone during busy times.

And another thing, I have owned a Tacoma for a few weeks so it's not like when I want a Studebaker part, which I have owned a Stude for 40 years, or a BMW of which I have owned for 30 years. I know nothing of who has good deals or who offers better supply of aftermarket parts at their dealership. Forums are for sharing info and techniques not for giving people a hard time. I have been on other forums for many years and there's always someone that wants to prove they know everything or give others grief.

The Larry H. Miller (Sandy, UT). dealer has many options and are willing to customize, too bad many more aren't willing to go the extra mile. My local dealer won't even sell me a TRD skid plate even though they add them to some of their Tacomas, although a steel one would slide better, I just asked to see if they would. I have seen other dealers offer them.

Not trying to give you grief, just find it odd that you have a list of wants, you have a $1500 credit memo, and only you know what specific items you want to find but are asking for sources to purchase from in a half dozen states.

Sorry if I seemed overly critical.

It would be okay if they could order it. I'm trying to find a dealer that will work with me and I can get most of what I want at the one place. Some places I have contacted won't even make an effort to get Toyota stuff. If they don't have it on their list of accessories they usually sell at their dealership it's not available.

Trying to get a comprehensive list of places to contact so I don't waste my time or theirs. Doing some homework first. Saving a few bucks on price can easily be eaten up in gas or shipping.

Realistically I want to drive my Tacoma everywhere so having a reason to take a side trip to Phoenix, while down in Sedona, or taking off a few days early to drive further in Nevada etc... is for fun. I have lists of dealers of quality parts for my other vehicles and know some of you guys have preferred dealers and know the ones that will work with you. I don't, so I rely on your expertise.

I understand your questioning my motives but I have been in the world of owning and driving a Tacoma for only 530 miles. Before a few weeks ago I was not going to buy any vehicle, unless I picked up another old Studebaker, so when we paid off our other car, my wife X3, she said why don't you get yourself a truck. No foolin. Could have floored me. I said I have wanted to get a Tacoma since 2001, after I started my first job here in the USA, and always looked at them driving past or ion parking lots. Now was a time not to be taken lightly but seized upon. So I got my list of how I wanted it and could only find one in Arizona. After a few weeks of looking throughout California, asking Toyota to build one for me, and getting the order rejected, I closed the deal on the Arizona one, just incase it was never to happen. Now after an actuator failure after only 456 miles Toyota and I came to an agreement and I now have the opportunity to get some more needed stuff. This is just where I find myself and you couldn't have convinced my this would be happening two months ago.

This is sort of what I meant. I can take a detour and pick up some quality parts from the dealer. If there are any more out there it would be nice to know.

you will not get sliders from a dealer...unless they order them for you but toyota does not make sliders.
at $1500 that's pretty much the tonneau cover and maybe mats lol

A couple of dealers around where I live sell Sliders. But they are aftermarket and I suspect cheaper if bought elsewhere.

Hope that is sarcasm as I have never taken my 2001 to a dealer and do all my own work. I make and modify parts for my Studebaker and have an engineering background. Once the Tacoma is out of initial service thing they do I will be doing it myself.

Wish I had not asked the question in the first place as some people don't like to answer the question just critique it and me.

If this is what this forum is like I will go it alone and leave you guys to it.
