got into an accident in my taco yesterday. it happened about 730 pm.
two right hand turning lanes. i was in the left of the two lanes turning right. and the person on the inside lane just went right into my lane and caught the nose and tires. (they were from out of town) i didnt freak out or anything.
cops show up and the lady is super pissed at her husband. that was her brand freakin new 2011 Lexsus rx350. and he was the one who wrecked it.
so its cold in nebraska this time of year. cop lets us sit in our cars. i fire the taco back up and she starts knocking. and hard! idled at 500 maybe less rpm. the only damage to my truck was on the front pass tire area. but could this engine problem be related? no leaks visible. my shock looks blown out and i just had it replaced when i snapped the ball joints.
and a the trim over the wheel well is gone. no paint transfer but the cop ruled the accident their fault they were cited.
oem crap is pricey. just for the fender and shock what do you think and agent will give me?
and if my engine is f'ed will they total me out? im going to look at it at my work tomorrow.

Any pictures of the truck? Its impossible to tell how much you are going to get without seeing it. Also, so what if OEM stuff is expensive? Make sure the the body shop uses OEM stuff, the insurance pays for it. Aftermarket body parts are junk.

and if the motor is trashed, its probably going to get totaled :(

    Glad you are okay.

thanks guys. the only damage, if you can mentally picture it is the fender got pushed up out of place and the trim ripped off. the fender would need to be replaced.

i as well am glad no one got injured.

Dude the exact same thing happened to me when driving my wife's Highlander. This Ford F-150 took my lane and clipped the front of the vehicle. It sucked because I had our kids in the car on the way to school. She took the bumper right off. Funny thing is, when we had the vehicle towed to our home the bumper fell right off all on its own. Of course completely her fault.

Good luck with the body shop bro. Take a pic of the damage. I feel your pain though.

that would be something to talk to your insurance co. about. But if its totaled you are probably going to have to get a salvage title
