    Reversing isn't an issue in 4-Hi, but sharp turns on pavement with it engaged is, which is that resistance you felt. I wouldn't think that turning the knob with the truck off would engage it when it's turned on, but I've honestly never tried. Your truck is more than likely fine. I did something very similar when I first got my truck, and didn't damage anything.

    Lol, you can't break with a slow full turn even on asphalt. You can break it if you are at full throttle and full turn while spinning in mud or snow and your tire suddenly catches traction. Been there on that one..

    You could drive that thing around all day long in 4x4 and not have a thing to worry about. I have yet to hear of a single failure ever from normal 4x4 use on pavement. Does it bind up and put stress on things, yeah, a little. Is your drivetrain going to blow up, no.
