Just a FYI guys, my line that goes down to the accumulator was "long" and not a flex line. Had to adjust bends and such to make it fit. Otherwise works good.

Yes. There are no flex lines in or out of the accumulator on the 3rd Gen.

    Mine has a flex line.

My stock line coming from the firewall is a flex line and not solid.

Yes. There is a flex line between the firewall and top of the transmission. I cannot see that part of the line. The line coming into the accumulator is a hard line with an insulation layer. To do mine with the brake line elbow, I had to re-form it a bit. I straightened the line to the slave to make up most of the distance.

That’s just odd. My line into the fitting all flex line.

There has to be a flex line between the transmission and body in one location or another to compensate for movement . I am willing to bet the OP,s kit will work on the second gen as well .

How’d you remedy it? I have the same problem and am currently under the truck contemplating going back to stock.

Just rebent it some, think like a backwards J connected to a sideways U, basically a S with a extra end to connect to the slave.

Okay, apparently there is a batch of trucks that did not come from the factory with a flexible upper line, if you are one of these trucks, you will need to bend your line to look like this:

These bends can easily be accomplished with using a 19mm deep socket to bend the line around. You just need to straighten the line you have and rebend to look similar to one of the lines below. YOU WILL NOT BREAK THE LINE BY STRAIGHTENING AND RE-BENDING.

See the pictures in the OP of the ADM thread. All of those are hard line, or at least look like mine did.

Rebent it to approximately how Trident has it posted and tweaked it under the truck. No leaks, bled without a problem.

Test drive went well, but noticed the end of the friction zone is not far from the resting position of the clutch pedal. I remember the clutch being fully engaged earlier in the stroke, is this normal?

From my experience, I would say no? The friction zone is approximately the same for me.

4 kits built, bent, and ready to ship.

I broke my flaring tool today. New one arrives Thursday. Will have 20 kits ready to go by the weekend.

I will be out of state next week, so if anyone wants one, order before this coming Sunday so I can ship on Monday before I leave town.

Is there risk with the long line not being fixed? I am just curious if it rattles against the transmission or if there is need to restrain it? I am definitely going to be doing this mod when I get back home in a month.

No risk. I’ve had mine on for over 4K miles and the line hasn’t moved.
