I'm saddened to read this, as I had only just bought my truck when you announced this. May I ask what drove you to stop? I really hope it wasn't the haters. There will always be people dumping on your product.

There have been a couple of instances where I’ve come out of pocket to replace units that were “never delivered” then magically delivered once I sent a replacement according to the tracking information and then when contact attempts were made the persons that received the units went ghost. Fortunately, it wasn’t anyone from TW.

Another situation where someone from a FB group attempted to reverse engineer my unit and start selling them, but people called him on it and he gave up.

Then there’s the goons on here that say they’ll order when I have more in stock and then suddenly can’t afford it and try to negotiate a lower price than what I’m selling them for after Ive spent the money to replenish inventory. There’s also those that want to publicly bitch and moan about how my kit is expensive when the parts can be gotten at autozone for $8 (they can’t by the way). I only use OEM equivalent fittings and they are hard to come by and not cheap and sometimes I can only get 10 fittings at a time.

Basically, because of stupid people being dipshits, my time and effort outside of my day job isn’t really worth it anymore.

Exactly. I also conducted a group buy for an MT specific group and shipped the units to the individual that set the group buy up after he had supposedly collect the money from his “club” and sent me the tracking info for the check he mailed. I built and packaged all the kits and put a shipping label on it since I was leaving the next day for a 3 week work trip. The check arrived and my wife took the box to the post office and shipped it. I returned home after the trip and deposited the check. Come to find out the dudes check was from a closed account. He also went ghost so I called the fuzz and reported it. This is being handled in the legal system currently. Fucking headaches.

I appreciate you being a stand up dude and handling the Canada logistics back in the early stages of the kit’s existence.

Was just there a couple weeks ago on a quick turn. Colder than a witches titty and glad I didn’t have to stay long.

I can’t blame you, I would do the same. It’s like advertising something and clearing stating that the selling price is “FIRM & NON NEGOTIABLE” and you still get the ass-wipes that text you low-ball offers (I never respond). Society is not what it used to be, WAY too many crappy people out there.

I'd argue that the ratio of crappy:not crappy people in society is about the same...social media/internet just amplifies the outliers...

Right on. Next time I’m there on an overnight, I’ll let you know. Canada is rare for me now with the new plane. Doing a lot of super long haul stuff out of South America to Europe and the South Pacific now. I’d be happy if I never had to go back to Suriname again. Talk about a shit hole.

Social media has turned into the toilet bowl of the inter webs. Society would be so much better without it.

I'm really sorry to hear about all the nonsense you've gone through. Selling on the internet, especially without a storefront, can be a really stressful experience. When you start spending more time dealing with the antics of assholes instead of selling product and building your business, it's definitely time to punch out. The MT market is small, and it sucks that a batch of fools have driven you away, the only person making this kind of product. I hope they sit uncomfortably on their shitty throne of internet smugness.

I can deal with the little shit. It’s the $1400 group buy order that I lost money on that sent me over the edge.

I hate to say it, but group buys always seem to go to shit. One of my hobbies is mechanical keyboards, and you wouldn't believe the number of scams I've watched occur.

This group buy seemed shady from the get go but I was assured by the guy setting it up that all was good. It was for a MT Hilux group in Brazil and the guy I was dealing with was local-ish to me in South Florida. I know him through a co-worker and the dude that set up the buy is an auto export broker and actually does quite a bit of wheeling in South America so after vetting him, I said okay. Shame on me for falling for his scam. Either way, there’s probably a bunch of South American Hilux’s with the kit now.

Brazil. Not even once. I've been dealing with trying to set up exports to that country at work and the amount of graft and corruption is mind boggling.

That's a shame! I had a mechanic put this kit on my truck within a month of getting it and amazed how much better the clutch behaved after.
