Accutune Offroad Uca's

Figured I'd do a little write up/review since I have been running these @AccuTune Offroad Uca's for just about 5 months, and have put them through their paces.

Was running Spc's prior, and with my daily driving/wheeling style, I couldn't get no more than around 7k miles out of the Spc balljoint's, even with greasing weekly.

Got tired of swapping them out every other oil change, and @AccuTune Offroad ended up coming out with their's at just the right time.

I specifically wanted to stay away from Uniballs (live in the Pnw, it rains non-stop, uniballs get expensive, not available in local parts store).
I also wanted to keep the Uca adjustment, as I run my lower cam tabs maxed out to push the knuckle forward, so need to fine tune alignment up top. I also don't get alignments done, and do home/tape measure alignments since I have my front end apart very often.

The Uca's happened to check all the boxes, that being a strong balljoint (accepts oem balljoint as well, for trail repair or future replacement if I don't go with the Accutune BJ's again), heims for adjustment and common availability, and the heims even have a neat little seal design which keeps all the elements out to help them last.

My truck is a daily driver, and I also wheel it wherever it will fit in the rocks. Frequent spots are Moab, all the Pnw trails, Johnson Valley in SoCal, and anywhere in between.
Have wheeled pretty much every weekend with them, and have even drove to Moab and did two of the hardest trails there (Pritchett Canyon, Coyote Canyon) including almost all of the hard lines here at the local spots.

I run 37's, 35lb beadlocks currently, am dual cased and locked front/rear, so lots of abuse going on drivetrain wise, ontop of daily driving which I think wears out things faster than wheeling trips somehow, haha.

Just went through the entire front end to do some maintenance (also go through tie rods every 10k, but thats a seperate issue), and the Uca's are still tight as can be. I grease them maybe every couple weeks, and have put around 15k miles on them. The heims are flawless still, and just put my first dab of triflow on them for fun.

Hey thanks for the detailed review! I can't think of another Tacoma owner that wheels their truck as hard as you do, who hasn't done a 1-ton axle swap. Love it. Keep it up!

 

This is legit. Great product given the paces it’s been through from Kevin’s write up and experience.

 

I know this is a few years old thread. But interest to hear the update on these UCA. I'm in the PNW as well and we get a lot of rain and mud.
