    Double cab.

    -I frequently carry people
    -Looks better
-my 5' bed was shortened to 4' due to tool box
-I have a trailer for towing matters

in short: its better to have the extra room just in case you need to carry people around, after riding in an access cab for much of my younger life i dont want people to feel the way i did

A valid point you have brought up, Oz

My opinion: The DCLB is not all that much longer than it seems. It's still shorter than a full size pick up with the same length bed.

Also, those grandkids of yours grow like weeds, so given a few years (if you keep the truck that long) you will start to appreciate the extra rear seat room a lot more.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I love the AC configuration the best, looks best of the 3 too. As far as room back there for passengers, it sucks, but hey, I don't have to ride back there. If people wanna ride with me then they just have to live with it is the way I look at it. I didn't buy a truck to chauffeur people around in, would have bought a 4Runner if I wanted to do that.

    DCLB all the way.

But if you know for sure you will be never having people in the back seat then maybe ACLB.

Just one thing first however. If you know anyone with a AC take it to the shopping store and park with lots of cars around and try to deal with putting all of those groceries in the back seat.

Then you will understand why I went from AC to DC. I hated the back tard doors.

I always have the bed full of stuff so if I go out shopping I need the back seat.

when I had my blazer I chauffeured people around all the time, got to be quite annoying.
I use my truck primarily for work, wouldn't be able to fit all my tools/materials in a 5' box.

i have a double cab with a 6' box and love it. it can be a bit of a bitch in a tight parking lot though.

I've got an access cab and its perfect for just me, the girlfriend and the dog. I plan on getting some sort of bed cover for road trips but the size of the truck is perfect for me now.

I'd love to have a DCSB, but I would be unable to sleep in the bed and I honestly want bed space more than cab space. I keep my rear seats folded flat and its perfect for the dog and storage, and I can still fit things under the seats folded flat.

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
Hard decision, it took me awhile to make up my mind. Same deal, wanted the 6ft bed but not the long wheel base so i ended up going with the access cab, my deciding factor was mainly looks, i didnt like the look of the short bed as much. But if you plan on lifting it and getting bigger tires i think that it makes the dcsb look so much better. Sometimes i wish i had a double cab, but if i had one im sure sometimes i would wish i had a bigger bed

Minor modification you could do this to a 09

I took my 2 granddaughters, ages 9 and 11, for a ride in the back seat of my AC. They were not happy with the lack of room. This was just a check, I normally use my Camry when I have extra passengers. I bought the AC for the 6 foot bed and room in the front.

I have never really liked the "suicide" doors on access cab trucks, of any manufacturer.

having to open the front door to open the rear door is a pita IMO. something to think about.

although, I agree the access cab has a good looking profile. especially in a 5-lugger, the double cab looks out of balance.
