I didn't want to rush, it has too much sentimental value to put a price on it.. glad I never sold it

He won't. The sticker will just magically appear within a month or so.

I'm crazy surprised it didnt punch all the way through. I think the only reason it didn't is because the skid plate pushed it Down far enough to were it wouldnt

Probably not. Heard they are like $1000.

If anything I'm gonna buy an ATO gas tank skid. Or maybe ill fill the gash with silicone or something

How thick is the tank, compared to how deep the scratch is?

No idea. It can't be much thicker than that I would think...or maybe but not likey Toyota was smart and made it like 1/2" thick. But that's doubtfull

So you aren't worried about it cracking at some point?

That's what my mom said to me...I have no idea if I should be worried or not. That's why I I was thinking I should seal it up with silicone

I'm worried about it and it isn't even my truck....

I agree the silicone could seal it, but I don't think it would give it any more structural integrity....like it might not prevent it from cracking...

Silicone could be a short term fix - but the gas would eat it pretty quick. If it isn't leaking right now I would keep an eye on it and start calling around to the salvage yards and find a used tank for sale. Maybe you can use this as a chance to get a bigger tank; I don't know if the different models had different size tanks though. Either way I would put this up next on my "replace before broken" list. As for a skid plate; building one shouldn't be too difficult if you have access to the right equipment. How much money will you save? That depends on if you get it right the first time. I can guarantee you will learn more building it yourself than buying one though.

So..... This could be a dumb question, but what is a "golden Diff" I'm guessing differential? But what is a golden one?

I just got an 05 PreRunner SR5 and I'm trying to add stuff to it! I wanted 4x4 or at least RED offroad but it didn't happen. It is making me happy to see that I can still do pretty good offroad like your truck....? Or do you got something fancy that I need to help me off road?
