    Hey y'all.

Been hunting for a 2nd gen ACLB 4x4 passively for a year, now actively shopping with a new job and new commute.

I test drove a pyrite mica 09 ACLB 4x4 4cyl auto today and was a little underwhelmed. 3rd party dealer wants $22k for 125,xxx miles. Has some discolored seats, no rust, some paint damage. I thought the 4cyl gas saver might be the move, but I also have my eyes on this TRD OR that's 3 hours away...

2009 timber green TRD OR ACLB auto with 25k original miles. Looks babied....brand new. Everything is original INCLUDING the tires (should i be concerned?). Dealer wants $26,900 and agreed to $26,000. No rust, no wear, looks like a new truck. It checks all the boxes but I'm having trouble swallowing the 26k$ pill. Talk me out of it....or into it....

For an extra 4k you get a better engine, rear locker, foglights, 100k less miles, no damage and a much better looking truck.
    That's a no brainer.
Better buy that TRD before someone else does.
Then get new tires, they are 12 years old.

    You got that right!
I paid 27,500 for my New 2010 TRD sport DCSB back in 12/09. Now 12 yrs later they are going for the same amount! Crazy

Basically I new truck, in today’s market that’s pretty cheap. Wait on it another day or two and someone else will decide it for you when they buy it

Prices are wild everywhere. That green one is a gem...probably won't find another like it.

    Go for it...

Is there anything I should look out for with a truck that may have sat for some time? 25k miles for a 12 year old truck, it either sat, or went to church once a week. I'm going to test drive it hopefully this weekend. I asked for pics of the frame already and it looks good, black, not rusty.

Do a carfax report on it and see the mileage history.
I'm no mechanic but I'd assume as long as all the fluids have been changed and brake calipers or rear drums aren't rusted you should be ok?

For the $$$ I'd definitely go with the v6. No one knows what the future holds as far as car values going forward so you have to decide if it's worth it. How long do you typically keep a vehicle? In todays car market I don't think you'll find a lower milage truck for less money. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I had a 2013 TRD Sport. The 2nd gens are great trucks (reliable, easy oil changes etc). Sounds like you know about the trouble with some of the frames rust issues. The only concern I'd have is if you have a long commute the 4.0s aren't the best for fuel milage. If you're good with that I'd say go for it.

Commute is gonna be 12 miles round trip. Not bad at all. It might also only be a couple days a week. So, the miles would continue to stay low.

You better act quick on the TRD OR. With the low miles it won't be available long:ohsnap:

If you have the cash flow definitely get the low mile truck. It would cost you only $0.04 per mile to own it according to the other one.
