A member said this on another thread

“I'm averaging between 12-15 mpg and I drive about 100 miles per day.”

He had 33” tires and 20” wheels

I am looking at the same lift, with 33” tires and 18” wheels.

PLEASE tell me I will get better gas mileage than this....

    Who knows.

Depends on more things than lift height and tire/wheel size.

Those probably have less to do with economy than any other variable.

    Such as what?

I’ll probably get an exhaust and intake on it. But I didn’t think that would make much difference.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Only have 2.5 lift with 32's and getting 18-20 mostly highway. No added armor yet.

My truck weighs 6k. When I had 35's I rarely saw over 12 average for a tank. 37's and regeared I'm about the same.

But...I haven't calibrated my speedo yet so I'm sure higher than that. I'd love to get 15 though.

I think this is the biggest variable.

I always prided myself on being at to borrow my dad's vehicle (while my Tacoma/car was down) and returning it with 2-3 mpg less rating than when I first picked it up.

I drive very conservatively and not very much. I'm at 15.9 MPG according to the dash with 31.6 in E-rated tires. If you're driving at reasonable speeds and keeping as low as possible in RPM you will fare well with standard size tires. If you go bigger and get a heavier tire like I did expect to lose some MPGs. It's a trade off you'll have to make, it was hard for me coming from a Honda Civic with 200k miles getting 30mpg no matter what lol

Impossible. That's what guys with stock trucks aspire to get. Your wind resistance will be much higher than stock and the wheels/tires are probably twice as heavy.

Super light forged aluminum wheels and tall skinny C load tires would mitigate the damage somewhat.

seriously. all these clowns around me are asking for big kudos and pats on the back for breaking 20mpg. o_O

F that noise git the hell outta my way I'm coming through!

i get around 12-13 usually and the cost of that much fun in a MT truck is fully worth it to me.

I have a 4 inch bds kit w/ 285/70/17. In town I Average between 12-16. Highway I still get 19-20. Anyone with 33’s is gonna get similar to this depending on weight of the wheel/tire setup

If I park it at 65 I can usually get 18-19 in this pig with 33's / MT's full armor, swing out, tent, roof rack. More often after 30-40 miles it levels out in the 16.5-17.5 range. I average 13-13.5 surface streets

A Tacoma get good gas mileage? Lmao! You add a lift and heavy tires your gas gauge is going to steadily move instead of slowly creep
