I have a question in regards to breaking down the leaf pack for flex testing. Since I'm lazy and don't want to disassemble and reassemble my dakars, would the main leaf out of a stock pack work? I figure that hitting bumps is hitting bumps regardless of leafs, so it makes sense in my head. Any reason that won't work?

because both springs wont necessarily go flat at the same point.

Isn't the point of breaking down a leaf pack and cycling to properly set bumps and trim fenders?

I mean set bumps so you don't bottom out shocks before hitting bumps.

Every spring pack is different. Some are slightly longer, more arch, etc. If you want to get the most out of your springs and shocks, breaking down the pack is the only way.

Noticed your running a dual battery setup in the rear of the bed. Have you run into any problems with the batteries being out in the elements?

Shouldn’t since they’re sealed batteries. Only thing might be corrosion on the posts, but I’m sure he has fancy terminal clamps.

Nope. Like @t.hornstra said, sealed batteries. I've had 3 feet of snow on top of the batteries and they work just fine.

So does the weather. I'm not about to cycle the suspension again while its snowing.

Good to know. I plan on running a similar setup. No snow here in Hawaii, just lots of sun lol

Question I have always wondered, does the main leaf even bump exactly the same as a complete leaf pack? I doubt it does, not enough to matter but doubt its exact

I know that part but I mean the shape of the leaf. When you compress a single leaf its not uniform and bends more in the center. The complete leaf pack makes it more of a uniform bend if that makes sense. Hard to see from my photo but it bends a little more right at the wood blocks. When the whole leaf pack is assembled its going to bend less dramatic in the center. Also axle rotation is not going to be exactly the same

Mine didn't, and since I squeezed 2.5 hydro bumps in for fucks-n-giggles space is a premium and the Teflon pad was contacting the nuts for the ubolts. Good thing I made my bump mounts bolt on, made it easier to just removed them, chop them off and re-angle them.

This is what I mean, very slight but if you are tight on space then I bet it can make a difference

It appeared to me that having the whole pack in changed the angle of the shackles and put me off a little causing the interference. I would imagine 99% of people it wouldn't matter, just in niche goofball scenarios like mine

Just something to watch out for the first time you run it after cycling and assembling

It does not. You will get a bit of a wave in the shape of the main leaf with the full pack. I use a zip tie on the end of the shock shaft when setting bump to add a bit of tolerance.

Sequoia master cylinder installed. Didn’t have a brake line bending tool but it turns out the upper and lower edges of last years cup at Tepui Fest is the perfect size to make bends.

I also pressed in the bearings and fully assembled the axles. E-brake shoes assembled. Calipers and rotors. Blah blah blah. Some shit crossed off the list. Far from done.

Is that a custom adapter plate for the MC? Got a link for it if so. Also did you change out the booster ?

Edit....looks like you used the SOS kit. Google is amazing!
